Embark on a captivating theatre experience with An Iliad, where the Trojan War meets the modern world in a timeless story of human conflict.

Dirt Road Productions in partnership with 香港六盒宝典开奖结果 Theatre Department presents An Iliad written by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare. The ancient tale of the Trojan War and the modern world collide in this captivating theatrical experience, exploring the nature of human conflict. Peterson and O鈥橦are imagine a Poet, a timeless figure doomed to relive the story of the Trojan War. Until the day when human nature changes, when our enduring addiction to rage comes to an end, when the telling of a war story becomes unnecessary.

Through the dynamic direction of Kathleen Duborg and heartfelt performances of Thrasso Petras as the Poet and Sarah May Redmond as the Muse, An Iliad offers a unique and poignant reflection on the impact of war and its global consequences throughout history. This production promises to be a moving and thought-provoking experience.

Opening Reception:

Thursday, May 9, 2024

4:30 - 6:00 PM

Please join us for a reception celebrating the opening of Annette Nieukerk's exhibit 鈥淭he Long Road Home.鈥 From the Artist Statement:

"The multi-media paintings of Annette Nieukerk question the notions of beauty and identity within the framework of our culture.  As a female figurative artist now in her seventies, the focus of her work is the aging body, challenging and breaking down stereotypes that equate beauty solely with youth and that confront a dominant negative perception towards aging.

Her latest series 鈥榯he long road home鈥 evokes the sensuality and desire that can exist at advancing years, the intensity of emotion and intimacy pulling two people together, and the deep yearning for connection buried in the human psyche"
